Chuck Stewart, Fair Musical Host

To say, "We have nothing to fear but Fear, itself" may not work in the 21st century.

However, in national crisis, we may have allowed Fear to displace what makes community possible.

Fear may have displaced what our Founding Fathers called "Brotherly Love," and what we now call our committment to human dignity and compassion for all.

It is now time, once again, to find the courage to speak out: "We hold these truths to be self-evident." It is time to Refuse the Fear -- Chuck Stewart

REFUSE THE FEAR ("I Am. We Are.")

words, music, & arrangement by Chuck Stewart ©2006

All the mountain tops were screaming . . .
All the valleys filled with tears . . .
Only helplessness was speaking,
Our minds recoiled in Fear.

Now our confidence was shaken,
Still, compassion filled our veins.
My mind could find no answer,
My conscience knew the way:

I believe in Human Spirit.
This is exactly who we are.
I have lived my clear conviction.
It is what matters to my heart.
I will stand for Human Dignity
In every way I can . . .

As the Love flows from our forests,
And extends beyond our hands,
We find that our compassion does lift
The Family Of Man.

I want to build on Freedom all throughout my life.
I trade with neighbors 'round the world, and I realize,
We are the human truth of Liberty of these two hundred years.
We will share this space and we'll build a place of
Freedom above our Fears!

I believe in Human Spirit.
This is exactly who we are.
We are all created equal.
I know Sweet Freedom dreams for all.
I have come to know my neighbors
As the gifts they truly are . . .

As the Love flows from our forests,
And extends beyond our hands,
We find that our compassion does lift
The Family Of Man.

If Freedom's made us this together . . .
If we're the answer to the call . . .
Will we anoint each, one-another
To embrace the world in all?

Still, the mountain tops are screaming.
Still, the valleys fill with tears.
But my heart has found such feeling
That my mind refuses Fear.

I believe in Human Spirit.
This is exactly who we are.
I have lived my clear conviction.
It is what matters to my heart.
I will stand for Human Dignity
In every way I can . . .

As the Love flows from our forests,
And extends beyond our hands . . .
We find that our compassion does lift
The Family Of Man.
